An Innovative Approach to Skin Care

A skin clinic that prides itself on bringing ‘capital city’ style services to Albury Wodonga has proven popular, and even earned itself an Albury Wodonga Business Award this year.

First opening its doors four years ago, Luxe Skin Clinic offers clients a full range of skin treatments and wellness coaching in a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.

Moving to its current location on David Street last year, the business quickly expanded with Luxe Laser Clinic and then this year adding on the wellness side, including Luxe Body and a naturopath.

Director, Erin Ryan a qualified dermal specialist, is proud to offer treatments and services that haven’t been done in Albury before. After working in Melbourne, the desire to introduce the local community to an innovative approach to skin care is what inspired Erin to open Luxe.

“I wanted to bring back here what was happening in Melbourne, which was that clients don’t just need to go get a fluffy facial or go to the extremes of a doctor,” Erin said

Dermal therapy is a relatively new area in the beauty industry, combining traditional beauty therapy techniques with a results-driven approach to skin care.

“That’s what’s been so popular. People come in and get the relaxation side as well as walking away with results and a treatment plan,” Erin said.

All Luxe staff who work on clients’ skin have received extra training and have the knowledge needed to fix skin concerns or improve the skin. Staff can diagnose and treat skin conditions and even help to prevent issues from arising.

While skin treatments are one of their most popular services, the wellness side of beauty is a strong focus for Luxe. The clinic has recently added Luxe Wellness to their service menu, offering clients a holistic approach to skin care and overall health.

Because many skin conditions start internally, staff can refer clients to the in-house naturopath. Staff are well-versed in ways to manage more serve conditions, and know what can and can’t be used on the skin, clients may also be referred to dermatologist or naturopath.

Just as the industry is becoming more educated, so too are the clients. Erin has found that clients know a lot more about what’s out there than what they used to.

“When I first started, people thought peels were ripping off the skin. Whereas now they understand what peels can do and that there are so many out there.”

In July, Luxe won the Albury Wodonga Business Awards for Outstanding Micro Business.

“We try to go that extra mile and offer the whole package. I wanted to be able to offer clients everything that the beauty industry has to offer, as well as having specialists like a naturopath and a doctor. We have systems from the moment a client walks in the door to the moment they leave,” Erin said.

September is going to be a big month for Luxe, with the launch of a new-award winning product range and the re-opening of their events space, catering for small groups and offering a custom menu including manicures and pedicures.
