Three Albury businesses – Ebden & Olive, Nord Bakery and Butt’s Smokehouse- have brought a fine range of foods to Albury’s first food pop up in Dean Street.

“My husband Steve Carne is the ideas man in the business, and saw the opportunity to bring our business to the attention of more people,” says Ebden & Olive’s Jodie Jones.

“We basically pulled the pop up together in a couple of days.

“Our three businesses are a little off the beaten track and we’ve had quite a few people say they didn’t know we existed, so in just a week it’s made people aware of the unique product range we all have.

”At Ebden & Olive we’ve already seen an increase in our business because of that awareness.”

The experience is true for many pop ups, especially in the food industry where the concept of going into an empty shopfront for a short period of time has proven to build the brand and business.

“What people can be assured of is that everything we offer is of the highest quality and readily available once this pop up is finished,” Jodie says.

That range includes products from Ebden & Olive’s cheese and other smallgoods; Nord Bakery’s bakery items and bespoke spreads, and Butt’s Gourmet Smokehouse famous smoked trout products and newly introduced gourmet pies.

Soup accompanied by a slice of Nord sourdough is also on the menu and is proving popular on cold winter days

Jodie says customers including owners and workers in nearby businesses have commented on the convenience of being able to pop in to the pop up.

“Last Friday I stayed open past our 2pm closing as it was quite busy. We’ve also had suggestions that we should extend our stay here, but for now we’ll open until mid-August,” Jodie says.
